Hi,
Is SQL power Wabit usable on Mobile? If so, could you point me to the appropriate resource / guide?
Appreciate your time.

Hi Bapajan,

The HTML-based thin client included with SQL Power Wabit Enterprise Edition is based entirely on web standards. It works fine in Mobile Safari, the Android browser, and should also work properly on the new Webkit-based BlackBerry browser.

You can obtain a trial copy of SQL Power Wabit EE here: http://download.sqlpower.ca/wabit/current.html

If you have any trouble getting started, please feel free to ask on this forum.

Best regards,

Jonathan

Thank you very much and appreciate your detailed reply. Is this feature available only in Enterprise or also under community edition?

Hi,
I have just downloaded the enterprise version and installed without any incident. But the left side does not have any details except for wabit server localhost:8080 no further option underneath. Am i missing some steps here? could you point me to some wiki or something which will help me navigate and access my olap cube?

Hi,
I could make a progress by connecting to my cube. When i try to save the workspace the system comes out with error 'an unexpected exception occurred and am unable to proceed. Could somebody point me to a wiki or doc narrating a sequence of steps from connecting through the embedded mondrian (using your xml schema and rdbms) until publishing to the server for access through thin client.
Regards

Hi,

Wabit comes with a short user manual. When you close all workspaces you see the screen with big icons to create a new workspace, open a workspace and so on. In the left lower corner is the link to the manual.

To publish the cube to the server you have to do the following steps:

- Start Wabit server
- Start Wabit Client
- Create the server connection
- Connect to the server
- Create a new server workspace (don't use the system workspace with the users and groups)
- Create a new relational db connection (see manual)
- Create a new OLAP connection (see manual)
- Create a new OLAP query in the server workspace (see manual)
- In the browser go to the wabit server page (link is something like http://localhost:8080/wabit-enterprise/static/thin-client/index.html
- Sign in as admin (can be a different user once you have users/permissions setup). In the left hand tree you should see the server.
- Select the workspace you created, open the OLAP query you created
- You should see the data from your cube

Let me know if you have any luck with it

Able to create new workspace and also create new queries (relational and olap). When i try to view through http://localhost:8080/wabit-enterprise/static/thin-client/index.html I am unable to view any contents. Am i missing something here? Appreciate your help.
